Syrian Hamsters- The most popular of the hamsters kept as pets, sometimes called Golden hamsters, are isolated creatures and cannot
live with each other after 8 weeks of age, doing so can and will result in fighting and possibly injury and death. But
don't let that scare you, they are still incredibly loving and great as a pet!
Winter White Russian Dwarf Hamsters- These hamsters, as their name implies, have the startling ability to change the coat to white in the winter. The dwarf hamsters
are quite different than the syrian hamsters, they are smaller by at least 3 inches and dwarf hamsters can live together as
long as they are if the same litter and of the same sex.
Campbell Russan Dwarf Hamsters- These are the most common of the dwarf hamsters and are the most popular, and strikingly simaler to the Winter Whites, with
the exception that they dont turn white in the winter. Normally they are platinum, but vary to brown or white, and have a
darker dorsal hair stripe going down their backside.
Roborovski Dwarf Hamsters- These are the smallest hamsters in the hamster world, and therefore, are very quick and hard to catch if escaped or lost.
Hence, not for inexperienced hamster-handlers or small children. They tend to be a light brown but can be a grey or black.
They are quite cute, but hard to keep still and tend to be a bit more nippy than the other dwarfs.
Chinese Hamster- They are the second smallest in the hamster world and very experienced climbers, and not for inexperienced hamster-handlers
or small children either. They are slightly more mouse shaped, as you can see in the pic, than the other hamsters, and isn't
neccesarily a true dwarf hamster because of its shape and origin, but still just as cute.
